Periodically, we scour the Internet for interesting authors who would like to play Book Trivia with us.  By answering our book trivia questions, we get to learn things about the author no one else knows!  So, let’s get ready…let’s play…Book Trivia!

Today our guest author is Jens Boele, author of the horror thriller, Urbex Predator.

Thank you for playing Book Trivia with us!

In the movie Castaway, if Tom Hanks unearthed a copy of Urbex Predator, how would that help Tom find a way off the island?

I absolutely love that question! Picture Tom Hanks, nearing the brink of despair, sitting by the flickering embers with his trusty companion, Wilson. Suddenly, he stumbles upon a copy of "Urbex Predator." As he reads the opening lines, a newfound determination ignites within him. He ventures into the darkness, gathering wood to stoke the fire, determined to finish the book by its warm glow.

As Tom delves into the story, he and Wilson become engrossed in the harrowing journey of Nela and Tess. They feel the pulse-pounding fear and desperation, mirroring their own struggle for survival. It's a race against time, akin to their own battle for freedom. But unlike Nela and Tess, they don't have deranged hoodlums on their tail. Or do they?

By the time Tom finishes the book, he's revitalized with a sense of purpose. Together, he and Wilson embark on a quest to locate a long-forgotten tunnel leading to a secluded military base. There, they hope to find a radio and call for help—provided they can evade the island's unwelcome inhabitants. It's a thrilling tale of resilience and resourcefulness, offering Tom newfound hope in the face of adversity.

Everyone knows Miley Cyrus is the wild child in the music business.  But she read your book and wants to let you know that it changed her life for the better.  Why did your book give Miley a new lease on life?

Well, Miley Cyrus and "Urbex Predator" – what a wild ride! You know, my book is like a blast from the past, a nostalgic nod to those 80s horror and slasher stories. Remember those days when masked killers chased innocent teenagers through the woods with Alice Cooper blaring in the background?

So, Miley stumbled upon my book and got hooked on that old-school vibe. It got her all pumped up about rock music again—Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, you name it. She called me up, buzzing with excitement, saying she's into Motorhead and Maiden now and thinking of rebooting her music career. But, she had her doubts, you know, wondering if she'd make it.

But I told her straight up, "Miley, if you believe in yourself, anything is possible." And that's the magic of "Urbex Predator" – it's not just a book; it's a shot of inspiration, a reminder that we can all rewrite our stories and chase our dreams, no matter how wild they may seem – especially if your name is Zander Regan, but that's another story ...

A homeless man was caught stealing your book out of a bookstore. When asked why he did it, he opened the book and pointed a passage out. What was that passage?

Yelka had gleaned from Vivian that things weren't as dire as they appeared, and her spirit could eventually recover. Fuming with rage, Yelka emerged at the surface. She refused to surrender to death in this foul sewer.

Finally, you just got word that your book has received the 2023 NY Times Bestselling Book Award and you have to attend the ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel in Manhattan.  Anyone who’s anyone will be there and it’s your shot for stardom.  On stage, you must give an acceptance speech.  What would you say and who would you thank?

Nela and Tess dare the eerie ruins for their photography thesis, while Zander, Yelka, Vivien, and Damon embark on a simultaneous shoot. Amid the abandoned shadows, Yelka’s group runs into Steven and his ruthless gang, initially outsmarting them. Yet, Nela and Tess fall victim to a nightfall ambush, escaping but torn apart. As adrenaline courses through the gang, they stalk Yelka and her friends, unleashing a relentless manhunt. Vivien becomes their captive, setting off a chain reaction. Tess encounters Damon and Yelka, while Nela, guided by Ben, the barracks’ security manager, races to find Tess. Yelka strives to rescue Vivien, trapped in an abandoned outdoor pool. On his lone pursuit, Zander witnesses the gang’s brutality, delving into a darker realm within himself, spurred by the horrifying thrill of Steven’s actions. The scene propels Yelka, Damon, and Tess into a frenzy, unleashing chaos to liberate Vivien. Nela and Ben, attempting to overpower the gang, witness Yelka and Vivien’s escape as the gang closes in. With the arrival of Steven’s older brother, Henry, the stakes are set; the old military hospital transforms into a battleground. No one is to leave alive, and a matter of life and death ensues. In the ruthless clash, Nela and Yelka emerge as the lone defenders, while Zander pursues a mission for his own catharsis. In Henry’s basement, dubbed his Hades, the teams converge for a pulse-pounding final duel, where survival is the ultimate prize.
