Can you tell us what your book, Blazing Upheaval, is about?
In the heart of the tumultuous Rodney King riots in Los Angeles, a dedicated teacher finds herself thrust into a hazardous situation. Struggling to navigate the chaos and reach safety on the freeway, she faces dangerous obstacles that jeopardize her life. During a brutal attack, an unexpected rescue arrives, only to
plunge her, her family, and two other families into a chilling series of enigmatic events and escalating violence.
As the city grapples with unrest, these families are entangled in a web of mysteries, each event building in intensity. In the turmoil, their bonds of family, loyalty, and love are put to the ultimate test. Can you tell us a little about your main and supporting characters?
The main character in the story is Tiffany Carter. She is medium height, athletic, graceful, has long strawberry blond hair, sparkling blue eyes, and is attractive with a beautiful smile. She teaches at Leo Politi Elementary School in the central area of Los Angeles. She includes teaching Djembe drum rhythms to her second-grade class. It relieves their tension and helps them focus.
The other characters in the story are her family and others thrown into the horrific events of the Rodney King riots.
How long did it take you to write your book?
It took me four to five months to write Blazing Upheaval.
What has been the most pivotal point of your writing life?
The most pivotal point of my writing life has been reading the reviews people were writing about my books. I had no idea the positive impact the stories had on my readers.
What kind of advice would you give up-and-coming authors?
Follow your dream. Just start writing and never give up!
